MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man was left critical injuries after he was shot and crashed his car into a light pole in Hickory Hill on Wednesday night, police said.

A woman told Memphis Police (MPD) that her boyfriend was shot around 6 p.m. after getting into an argument with a man she knew as "Myron." The shooting happened on Raintree Drive.

The woman told investigators that they were being followed at East Raines and Kirby Parkway. They continued to Berrybrook and Raintree, where three people hopped out of a car and started shooting.

Her boyfriend was struck by the gunfire and he later wrecked into a light pole, police said.

He was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition, police said.
